Health and Wellbeing Promotion in the Community

Kingfisher Primary Care Network have been holding Health and Well-being events in different locations in Redditch. Kingfisher Pharmacists were speaking to members of the public, offering advice on self-care, sharing information on the use of the NHS APP. Pharmacists also used the AF tool to diagnose possible Atrial Fibrillation. At one of our events, the tool read a total of 5 people with irregular heart rates. These readings were followed up by their GP’s and further tests were taken which in one case, resulted in capturing early diagnosis of heart failure.

Care Coordinators also attend the events to offer help with the use of the NHS APP, promote the local Patient Participation Group and hand out children’s dental health information to parents.

Joining us at our events, is the NHS health Bus. Offering free NHS Health checks, Blood Pressure checks, Heart rate checks, updating results to patient records, signposting and help with GP registration.

Our events have also been joined by other services to offer signposting and general advice. This included, but not limited to, Starting Well, Active Redditch and Bromsgrove, The Fire Service, Act on Energy, NHS England, Social Prescribers and Redditch District Collaborative.
